Paranoise
has released their new album, "ISHQ," a Sufi word meaning transcendence.
It is a further evolution of the Progressive/World music sound developed
on "Private Power." This recording includes loops and arrangements of vocals
by the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, as well as samples and textures from
places like Yemen, Sudan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Rajasthan, Kenya, Morocco,
Bulgaria, Timor, Bukhara, Egypt and India. It will explore further the
political philosophy of Noam Chomsky and the ecstatic world of Terrence
McKenna.
